Transferring Australian Court Judgment to England

The Reciprocal Enforcement of Foreign Judgments (Australia) Order 1994

(Section 3) The following courts of Australia (hereinafter referred to as “recognised courts”) shall be recognised for the purposes of Part I of the Foreign Judgments (Reciprocal Enforcement) Act 1933, that is to say:

  • High Court of Australia
  • Federal Court of Australia
  • Industrial Relations Court of Australia
  • Family Court of Australia
  • Family Court of Western Australia
  • Supreme Court exercising jurisdiction in respect of each Australian State or Territory
  • District Court of New South Wales
  • County Court of Victoria
  • District Courts in Queensland
  • District Court of Western Australia
  • Local Courts in, and the District Court and the Magistrates’ Court of, South Australia
  • Courts of Requests in Tasmania
  • Magistrates’ Court of the Australian Capital Territory
